I found my dream world —an old apartment building in the center of Condesa, each room themed and filled with vintage, luxury clothing and accessories. The store is owned by Olympia de la Macorra who travels the world to collect rare pieces for her customers.

The curation of these pieces makes it more of a museum than a store. Check out the Coco Chanel room, the Mick Jagger room, and more. Find vintage pieces from Chanel, Miu Miu, Hérmes, Balmain, Saint Laurent, Gucci, and Prada. This is definitely one of the top clothing stores in Mexico City!

2. Goodbye Folk Boutique

Goodbye Folk boutique specializes in vintage clothing and custom-made shoes. Not headed to Mexico City anytime soon? Good news. You can send your measurements (how do I measure my foot?) and the colors and shoe fabrics you want to them directly and they will ship internationally.

3. Roma Quince Concept Store

If you want to shop for clothing and home goods in a Porfirian-era mansion, above a fancy restaurant, head to Roma Quince. Climb the stairs at the left of the restaurant to find top Mexico brands and designers. This is one of the most unique clothing stores in Mexico City.

Designers and brands include Ocelote, which puts an edge on wardrobe essentials, blending comfortability, avant-guarde design, and high quality materials. I left with a shirt and a neoprene jacket I now wear 3x a week in San Francisco. There’s also Mexico designer Ricardo Seco who uses bright textiles and highlights his native Mexico on each piece.

And I couldn’t leave without checking out sustainable and ethical Mexico star Alejandra RAW Project. The brand uses older techniques such as pedal looms, hand weaving, and antique textiles.

4. Fábrica Social

This Mexican design cooperative offers 100% handmade and fair trade Mexican textile items like tablecloths, dresses, purses, jewelry, and my favorite—the quechquemitl, a poncho or shawl-like garmet.

All of their products are one-of-a-kind pieces from 5 different regions in Mexico made by indigenous women artisans.

Fábrica Social’s objective is is to support indigenous craftswomen to have fixed and stable income through fair trade of the products they make.

Vintage Hoe (still a bit confused on the name…) brings a mix of local Mexican clothing with international secondhand items from shoes, bags, blouses, jewelry, and jeans.

It’s the perfect stop to find a secondhand Phillip Lim shirt for you and a woven bag to bring home to your boss. (I’m sorry boss… I didn’t bring back anything…)

6. Loose Blues

LOOSE BLUES is worth the visit to see the curation of restored and new of clothing, accessories, vinyls, and art.

The store houses local Mexican designers and also those from Japan and the US. (The owners are from Mexico and Japan.) Find Japanese designers like Antgauge and Softmachine, and Mexican designers like Robin Archives. Hungry? Check out the restaurant upstairs.
