The global chain prides itself on being “a portal of discovery”. Well, we have discovered not good enough environmental-protection. labor, and inclusivity practices. Recently, dozens of people responded to the company’s Black Lives Matter post, revealing it once had a code that employees were allegedly instructed to use whenever Black shoppers were in the store. Check out the stores like Anthropologie that provide similar (and even more unique) items while upholding sustainable and ethical practices.

According to Good on You, there is no evidence Anthropologie minimizes textile waste, avoids hazardous chemicals in its supply chain, or implements water reduction initiatives. This lack of care for the planet is disappointing from brands that clearly have the resources to do better!
