Jenna Dee Dargenzio started Air Sign Collective with the philosophy of creating quality jewelry that is made to last, wanting to build pieces that “spark joy over greed, and inspiration over depletion”. See below to learn more about Air Sign and the sustainable clothing brands she pairs with her handmade pieces to recreate her favorite 90s fashion trends.
So, who are you? 🙂
My name is Jenna and I am based in LA. I went vegan 2+ years ago and this prompted me to question everything I was used to consuming and doing. It has been an amazing journey and has completely transformed my life. I currently have a sustainable jewelry brand Air Sign Collective where I hand carve jewelry using the lost-wax casting method. It’s such a fascinating process that allows me to be so hands-on and intentional.
How do you describe your style?
My style is overall pretty casual, I love finding thrifted gems, color, and floral prints.
What is your go-to look or favorite of the 90s fashion trends?
Since it is currently winter my go-to’s have been my vegan Dr. Martens Jadon boots and thrifted jackets. (I have the best luck finding cool thrifted jackets.)
What’s a piece in your closet you wear to make more of a statement?
Right now my lime green vegan/sustainable bag from HOZEN. I’m obsessed with it and the pop of color is perfect.
What brands and stores do you love to recreate 90s fashion trends?
I love thrifting! Nothing like finding a $3 gem, but there are so many amazing eco-brands as well—Girlfriend Collective, Reformation, Boyish Jeans, Dôen, Everlane, Youth to the People for skincare, and Saalt for menstrual cups, to name a few.
What’s your advice on finding a style and building a closet you love (that is conscious and ethical!)?
If you’re working with a budget thrifting is, of course, a great way to shop. Swap clothes with friends to keep things fresh. Scour
How do you think you (and others!) can do more to be sustainable? What other ways can we be sustainable and create change in the sustainable fashion space?
Sustainability is a journey and it is so important to focus on sustainability in all aspects of life in addition to the fashion industry. Eat less meat, thrift more, and avoid single-use plastics.
Thanks, Jenna, for sharing how you make 90s fashion trends sustainable.
