I gave myself one day to hit up the top sustainable and
All shops (+ vintage!) can be easily accessed via this Amsterdam Good Finds Google Maps List to use on your upcoming Amsterdam trip.
1. STUDIO JUX + CO. FLAGSHIP STORE
Jitske Lundgrens and Carlien Helmink started studio JUX (store and clothing brand) with the motto that fashion should be fun and fair for all involved—designers, factory workers and the end consumer. “Jux” even means “having a laugh” in German.
Jux owns a factory in Nepal, and say on its website, “All of our Nepali employees are rockstars, who we continually support. Being the owner of the factory, we ensure that a studio JUX supervisor is present at the factory to guide and support the team.”
Its flagship Amsterdam clothing store includes its namesake brand for men and women—think relaxed silk shorts, jersey dresses, and cotton tops under €100.
Other sustainable fashion brands sold include clothing brand People Tree, jewelry brand Umiwi, sock brand Qnoop, cosmetics brand Be […] my friend, and more.

2. GEITENWOLLENWINKEL
Wow, Kowtow. Bags by Matt & Nat and shoes by Collection & Co, among some fabulous and sustainable others.
Geitenwollenwinkel (I wish I could say that 5 times fast without sounding like a stumped American) is one of the Amsterdam clothing stores that prides itself on caring mainly clothes made of organic cotton with the Global Organic Textile Standard certification. This means that the cotton is made, washed, and colored in a sustainable way, without the use of harmful chemicals. GOTS also ensures that all processes are done fairly.
The store also carries clothing made from Lyocell (Tencel), a fabric made from tree pulp, and clothing made from recycled products. For example, a brand like By Molle uses old jeans to knit new plaids.

3. VERSE
New love = a Kings of Indigo jumpsuit. More colors and more sustainable brands including Ecoalf. The Spanish brand’s mission is to create the first generation of recycled products with the same quality and design as the best non-recycled products. A rack of Colorful Standard: colorful (hehe) organic, logo free t-shirts and sweats.
Verse is the cool kid’s sustainable fashion store of Amsterdam clothing stores. It is also where I discovered and fell in love with Kings of Indigo, which makes sustainable quality denims, tops, and accessories inspired by American classics with a Japanese eye for detail. (See the jumpsuit I wished I purchased above.)
Along with Kings of Indigo, Verse carries brands like sunglasses brand GOBI, skincare brand (with lipstick colors that pop) Albus and Flora, sweatshirts-in-every-color brand Colorful Standard, and more, that show conscious fashion can be fun and colorful.
Since I first published this post, Verse has opened an additional location, where Charlie + Mary used to be, in the De Pijp neighborhood. Both locations have the same brands and cool kid vibes.

4. NUKUHIVA AMSTERDAM
Rhumaa ‘s dream is to bring art, stories and culture closer together through fashion and to give young artists a platform to showcase their talent. Pretty cool. This is the shop for sustainable denim. Check out Nudie Jean Co’s 100% organic cotton denim.
Nukuhiva knows sustainable denim of all the Amsterdam clothing stores. Try on a pair of the store’s own Nuku jeans, made from GOTS certifie Turkish fabrics consisting of 98% organic cotton and 2% lycra, a pair of Nudie Jeans® made from 100% organic cotton, or a pair of Kuyichi jeans. There are a lot of sustainable jeans options.
