Now that we’ve made it past the top Amsterdam sustainable fashion stores—and took a power nap, maybe ate some fondue, and drank an espresso—it’s time for the Amsterdam thrift stores and Amsterdam vintage clothing store finds.

1. MARBLES VINTAGE & DESIGN

Amsterdam thrift stores — Stacks on stacks on stacks on stacks.

Looking for some 90s vintage? Forgot a pair of jeans or boots back at home? Stop by Marbles. Vintage leather boots line the store and stacks of Levi’s jeans almost reach the ceiling, Leather bags, high-cut bathing suits, babydoll dresses, sunglasses, and more are also on display at one of the top Amsterdam thrift stores and vintage clothing stores.

2. ZIPPER VINTAGE CLOTHING

vintage shops — Multiple floors housed vintage accessories.

Zipper houses everyday vintage—I picked up a pair of used Birkenstocks!—and plenty for a costume party. Check out the tie-dye shirts, Hawaiian shirts, bandanas, petticoat skirts, army garb, combat boots, and 80s jogging suits adorned with cartoon characters at Zipper, one of the best of the Amsterdam thrift stores.

Note: An 80s jogging suit is perfect for everyday too.

3. EPISODE

amsterdam vintage stores — The place to go for vintage sneakers in all colors.

Episode has a lot of stuff and is probably the most packed of the Amsterdam thrift stores and Amsterdam vintage clothing stores. I now know where to go to get my next professional boxer shorts, newsboy cap (thank you MK & A for your forever inspiration), sailor hat, secondhand Nike’s, Converse, jean jacket, suede jacket, 80s windbreaker, and 50s prom dress.

The store also remakes items out of original secondhand clothes. For example, men’s knitted sweaters are used to make skirts and bags.

4. RUMORS VINTAGE & DESIGN

I am a sucker for orange and yellow and anything bright 60s vintage….so Rumors sucked me in. I purchased a yellow jumper and a yellow and pink long sleeve shirt (see above) and have no regrets.

The store also includes a men’s section with jean and leather goods. But I’m still thinking about all the 60s mod, color block shift dresses I need to go back and get.
