I am excited to welcome Seville-local and eco-friendly products expert Emi to Thoughtful Flamingo to share her Seville shopping guide featuring the top sustainable clothing, zero-waste food, and clean beauty stores in Seville, Spain. A few years ago, she started researching the chemicals in her products and the effects they had on her and the planet. She decided to ditch all her makeup, which was full of nasty chemicals, switch to organic beauty products, and start her blog Midorita to share her experiences moving toward a greener household. Check out her site and her Seville sustainable and ethical picks below.

Emi, take it away…
Hi, I’m Emi and I’m based in Seville, the capital of Andalusia, the largest region in Spain, which is located in the very south of the country. Seville is the fourth largest city in Spain, after Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia.
Seville has always been quite a traditional city, but I’d say that it’s becoming more and more open to new ways of thinking so, you’ll be able to find now some good quality sustainable and organic stores in the Seville shopping guide below.
The Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Seville Shopping Guide
1. VERDE MOSCÚ
If you’re looking for sustainable and ethical clothes when Seville shopping, Verde Moscú is the place to go. This store opened in 2012 after the owners saw the big environmental impact of the clothing industry. They carefully choose brands that not only use organic fabrics but are also sustainably manufactured. They also make sure the brands they sell are respectful towards the rights and dignity of the people who make the clothes. You can find international brands like Armedangels and Monkee Genes, and Spanish brands like Urbanita.

2. BIEN Y BIO
Close to Verde Moscú is a shop called Bien y Bio for your Seville shopping pleasure. The owner, Leslie, moved to Seville from France as an Erasmus student and decided to open the store to help others switch to natural and organic skincare. Leslie struggled with skin allergies since she was 7 years old and kept seeing doctors but nothing was helping. She finally found her skin was at peace once she switched to natural and organic skincare. Ever since, she’s researched new products, brands, trends, and skin issues and studied beauty therapy in school too. When you talk to Leslie, you can really hear how passionate she is about her shop and how knowledgeable she is about clean beauty products. You’ll find makeup, perfume, haircare, baby products and more—but you won’t find harsh chemicals.

On the other side of the river, in the popular area of Triana (my hood!) is Grano y Granel. The place is owned by Xavier, a French man, who’s lived in Seville for more than 20 years. After seeing similar places in Madrid, he decided to open Grano y Granel in Seville. You’ll find, pasta, different types of pulses (dry peas, lentils, beans, and chickpeas), herbs, spices, sugar coated fruit, coffee, tea and alternatives to sugar. The store has local products and international products and every food category has an organic option. Bring your own produce bag or container. Traveling without one? ABOUT EMI
My name’s Emi and I’m originally from Spain. I’ve been teaching English to adults since 2007 and have also lived in London, Indiana, and Osaka teaching Spanish. A few years ago, I started researching the chemicals in my products and the effects they had on me and the planet. I then decided to ditch all my makeup, which was full of nasty chemicals, and switch to organic beauty products. After that, I changed to recycled toilet paper, cloth tissues, and all green cleaning products. I soon started my blog Midorita to share experiences moving toward a greener household. You can find me on Facebook and Instagram too.
